“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like.

Design is how it works.”

— Steve Jobs.

Expanding tech education through classes, community & materials.

My interest in computer science and engineering was inspired by my desire to help my grandparents with technology.  So at age 8 I began a community service called Task Boys where kids with tech skills helped older adults in my neighborhood with their technological issues.

At 10 I began working as a technology manager at a local preschool where I installed and troubleshooted issues with printers, cellphones, laptops and then later security devices. Afterschool I began helping with their coding class and this past summer taught one of my own.

In my freshman year, while taking Harvard University's renowned CS50 computer science course and developing a strong foundation in programming languages like C, Python, SQL, and JavaScript, I began mastering fundamental concepts in algorithms, data structures, and software development.

My experiences have fueled my continual fascination and propel me to explore this field of study.

Classes for Emerging Tech Enthusiasts in Nigeria

From exploring the forefront of tech research at local technology workshops in Brooklyn to crafting advanced technological models in highschools in Nigeria, Julian ignites curiosity in kids, solidifying their passion for diverse aspects of technology and expanding their understanding of the ever-evolving digital landscape. Julian's classes encompass a wide array of subjects, from hands-on projects that involve building and programming gadgets to staying abreast of breakthroughs in tech research, such as developments in quantum computing or artificial intelligence.

Community Support - founding Task Boys

I spearheaded the establishment of a startup focused on delivering top-notch IT support to customers within our neighborhood. I adeptly navigated technical intricacies across various tools during customer interactions involving OS, smartphones, tablets, PCs, and Macs. My communication approach was finely tuned to cater to diverse audiences, ensuring effective and personalized assistance. Recognizing the demand, I successfully recruited three skilled friends to join our support team, bolstering our collective capabilities. This initiative not only showcases my technical proficiency but also underscores my ability to build a collaborative and competent team to provide tailored IT solutions to our local community.

Materials for Schools and Communities

Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach can begin with individual children at their neighborhood school, such as Precious Ani, age 16, from Benue State in Nigeria, who will soon have access to laptops and subsequently extends beyond to help ensure many of our future innovators have the necessary community and support to do their best learning.

“With the support from Tech Dreamers, we have been able to serve our students better than ever.”

— Murielle M., School Director
